DESCRIPTION

Welcome to The Shore, a culinary gem located along the picturesque Truckee River in the heart of Reno, NV. This charming restaurant stands at 1 S Lake St and offers a delightful escape into a world of elevated dining experiences. From its romantic ambiance to the impeccable service, The Shore is an exquisite spot for anyone looking to indulge in top-notch cuisine while soaking in the serene sounds of flowing water.

As you step inside, you are welcomed by a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly sets the tone for an unforgettable meal. Guests rave about the chicken fried steak—a breakfast standout that has been described as “the bomb.” For lunch lovers, the juicy hamburgers burst with flavor, making each bite a celebration of comfort food done right. Ronette Santos, a satisfied diner, highlights the overall elevated experience that this restaurant artfully delivers.

When it comes to drinks, the staff at The Shore prioritize freshness, using real fruit in their vibrant cocktails. The bartender’s creation, the Golden Knight, has captured the hearts of many patrons, including Brendan Kiely, who found it to be the perfect companion to his duck dinner. This dedication to quality extends to the dinner menu, where guests like Walt Cofer have enjoyed perfectly cooked rainbow trout paired with flavorful roasted Brussels sprouts—an example of how The Shore truly elevates classic dishes into memorable culinary masterpieces.

Outdoor seating allows diners to enjoy the therapeutic views of the river. This aspect won the heart of Mai Kor Xiong, who described her experience as delightful, despite a bit of a wait during busy hours. The attentive staff ensured her brunch became a cherished memory on her last day in Reno. It’s these moments—savoring delicious food in a stunning setting—that make The Shore a favorite for both locals and visitors alike.

While The Shore may be on the upscale side of dining in Reno, the overall experience, from flavorful dishes to exceptional service, justifies the price, as noted by Doug B. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner or a casual lunch with friends, The Shore guarantees an atmosphere and meal that captivate the senses. Make it a point to visit and create your own unforgettable dining memories here.

Romantic atmosphere on the Truckee River. The service is very good. The food is excellent too. The elevated Chicken Fried Steak for breakfast is “the bomb”. Their Hamburgers for lunch are juicy and full of flavor. And they use fresh fruit in their cocktails. It’s an overall elevated experience.

Had a delicious dinner here with friends. Drinks and meals were great. I ordered the Golden Knight drink which was delicious and the duck with a side Ceaser salad. Great place to eat if staying at the hotel or in downtown Reno.

This is a really nice restaurant. Pretty upscale and very pricey. The food and service was excellent, zero complaints. I sat at a table next to the concrete river with a decent view.

Friendly staffs that check on us while we wait. Food was good just a bit of a wait because there were alot of people that time but we love the view of the river and atmosphere of this restaurant. It's a nice place for brunch. The view and sound of the river flowing is so therapeutic. I am glad we got a seat outside when it was supposed to be unavailable. I am grateful the staffs made it possible for us to get to experience this on our last day in Reno. I recommend this place :)

I had an amazing dining experience here! The rainbow trout was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked, flaky, and seasoned to perfection. The roasted Brussels sprouts were the ideal side, with a wonderful balance of crispy and tender, and packed with flavor. The service was outstanding as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right throughout the meal. If you’re looking for fantastic food and excellent service, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back.

While not my first time here, this was a first for my husband, best friend and her boyfriend. I was excited to share it with them! We celebrated our anniversary today at an Ace's game and then a late dinner. First, the amazing! The chefs here definitely put a lot of time, care and creativity into crafting their dishes - from small plates, sharables, main entrees, sides and desserts. This care is also given at the bar with their crafted alcohol and non-alcoholic cocktails/mocktails. We started with drinks - the Old Fashion was a strong pour with its garnished flavors, a Lemon Drop and one of my favorite mocktails - a Mango Mojito, with a strong mix of fresh mango mash and other flavors I couldn't place but blended nicely into a pleasant drink. So, if you have drinkers and non-drinkers, you can still have a better than average - soda, tea and water experience. We started with the Marinated Castelvetrano Olives. I'm not an olive fan but they were mixed with whole garlic that was delectable. Both were made with a morita chili and urfa pepper but there was no heat. The olive lovers were very happy with both the garlic and Olives. Then we had tender scallops mixed with delicious shreds of Wagyu on a bed of fava beans, watercress and strawberries. I would never think to add strawberries but the combination was exquisite. And speaking of exquisite combinations, while I did not try these, my friend could not stop raving over how he could taste every flavor in the Brisket Barbacoa Tacos. My bestie ordered the Parmesan Ricotta Gnocchi and it was clear upon arrival that you would not get gnocchi like this anywhere else. They were perfectly cooked, apparently homemade and dancing in the flavors of carrot top pesto (who knew!), English pea puree etc. I was given one incredible bite and I can't wait to order it for myself. My husband and I got the Seared Flat Iron Steak and Pan Roasted Verlasso Salmon respectively. I have had both before but they were plated differently this time with a bit more pinache. The steak was tender and a fine cut. My salmon had a crisp coating of its own flavor with delicately cooked and a flaking middle, how salmon is supposed to be. Add a side of their garlic mashed potatoes and then completed with an unexpected mousse? Tart? It was deliciously dense and rich, plated with a Raspberry puree, homemade whip and shaved chocolate. It was the perfect end to a perfect meal. Add in a lovely, romantic atmosphere, with dim lights and comfortable seating and it was an almost perfect experience. Our server was attentive, responsive and kept the table clean. He was the one who surprised us with the dessert. The meh - the host was most likely new as we had a 9pm reservation but tried to say the restaurant closed at 9 not 10pm. We waited a bit longer than usual for food but nothing unreasonable as they spaced them out appropriately. However, that meant that we were still working on the dessert at 10pm when the overhead lights went on, the universal signal for "get out". We were done and ready to leave by 10 after so it would have been nice if they'd waited just 10 minutes past closing before the "reminder". If you are looking for a nice romantic or even fine dinner with friends, The Shore should be high on your list.

Delicate flavored, seasonal menu prepared by skilled chefs at a fantastic price point in a nice setting. The service is also matched up to the foods! If you are by yourself you can eat it at the bar or hotel lounge too. The seat by the river is romantic even inside you can see the river running. Who needs casino foods?! If you're downtown this place must on your list.

Hands down BEST brunch I've had in a while in RENO Every dish was incredibly delicious, the presentation was very appealing and the freshness of ingredients were what made the dish. Loved the drinks, the bar tenders Jeremy and Levian were so helpful, and wonderful company as we sat at the bar. Since we didn't make a reservation, which I highly recommend, even though we sat outside the actual restaurant, our experience was wonderful. However, I wish it wasn't raining and cold, because I would have loved to sit on the patio, and enjoy the gorgeous view and sounds of the river. Lesson learned for next time when I visit Reno again.
